In 1963 Cornelis Verolme, the famous Dutch shipbuilder and founder of Verosol, sailed into the New York harbour. He marvelled at the impressing skyline and noticed that the towering skyscrapers were mostly clad in glass. He wondered how difficult it would be to keep the indoor climate manageable.

Cornelis became passionate with the idea of finding a solution to this problem and experimented tirelessly with many ideas and concepts. In 1965 he established the Verolme vacuum metalising company and developed a process – still unique today, of applying a microscopic layer of aluminium to textile. Cornelis believed that if he could create metal backed fabrics that could be made into curtains and blinds, with the metal side facing outwards, heat and glare could be reflected back outside the building. By regulating this heat and light, buildings could not only benefit by significant energy savings but would also create a much more comfortable environment for occupants. As Cornelis Verolme said: “When you are sitting inside a room, it feels like sitting in the shadow of a tree!”

With all-time performance, excellent quality and exclusive aesthetics Verosol creates your ultimate comfort zone. They are continuously innovating to offer you the best integrated service and support
and to meet today’s energy challenges. Because the world is changing rapidly and so is our climate.

Verosol invented the highly reflective metalized fabric and they were the first to place them inside
They decline cooling and energy use significantly and create the ultimate freedom to design facades
All just by adding an ultra-thin layer of aluminium. Verosol keeps on improving and pushing the limits to beat the heat and fight the light and to transform buildings into natural, healthy places
where people feel free, live fully and perform in the best possible way.
